Bing about to launch in UK – Article about Bing’s marketing manager.

Digitalstrategyconsulting.com went to see Bing’s marketing manager, Cedric Chambaz. He shared some great insights about the positioning of Bing.

Among these:

Search engines have find new ways to reduce the complexity for the user – the internet has become “unrecognisable”. This means to bring the consumer to the desired result faster and easier. An example: if you search “facebook” on Bing, you get ONE hit. Its facebook. You can directly go to “sign in”, “advertise” etc.

Bing focuses on “categorised search”. Bing tries to find the relationships between different keywords and figure out the users “hidden intent”.

The article is definitely worth reading and allows a quick look into the thinking behind the Bing decision engine.
