comScore Search Engine Ranking September 2009
There has been some confusion about the latest developments in the U.S. search engine market. As TechCrunch reports, Hitwise and StatCounter reported Microsoft Bing with a 5% to 10% loss in their market share (down from about 9.5 percent to 8.9 percent or 8.5 percent).
ComScore released their numbers yesterday and Microsoft’s market share has increased by 0.1 percent compared to August 2009. At the same time, Google’s market share went up by 0.3 percent (up to 64.9%).
Now the big question is: what influence will Bing Cashback have on the ongoing battle between the search engine giants? Black Friday and Christmas are right ahead and Microsoft will probably invest some major marketing $ to get consumers to try Microsoft Bing Cashback.
